“An animal with beautiful colours of some place magical with lots of flowers.”
That was the description my daughter gave after capturing a Brown Hawker (Aeshna grandis - mosaic darners) dragonfly with her butterfly net.
I wanted to capture the subtle hum and the elegant, shimmering flight of the dragonfly as it made its way back towards the river.
I incorporated synthetic instruments and strings into this track, aiming to recreate the elusive hum of its wings that my phone failed to capture, as well as the mesmerizing bending of time and space with each movement.
Hopefully, I’ll have my audio recorder ready to capture it if I ever get the chance to see one again in the future.
