Instabium

This one is a bit out there compared to my other tracks (déjà vu). It’s not quite stable in any sense of the word. It’s what I imagine some newly discovered element would sound like when put under an acoustic microscope, hence the name Instabium.

The whole track stemmed from the idea that I could just use one instrument to create some sound/noise from just randomly hitting a single note for a few bars, and then use some filters and effects to carve out something that might intrigue the ear.

I’ve been toying with the concept for a few weeks now, and while I like parts of the track, there’s just too much going on for me to really harness it in any meaningful way. The frequency spectrum alone was just too intense for my ears.

I’m letting it go; it’s a relief to have the mental clutter gone, and my ears will thank me in the long run, I’m sure.
