By adding Tarot to my mindfulness routine, I noticed a significant shift in my mindset, becoming more receptive to different esoteric beliefs and traditions.

As a result, I eagerly sought new topics to explore, and that’s when I stumbled upon The Book of Symbols, one of the many books in the Taschen esoterica series.

The book made a lovely Christmas gift, and I’ve been slowly making my way through a couple of pages each night for the past 3 months.

Each symbol is presented with a one-page essay and accompanied by breathtaking imagery, meticulously reproduced, as you would expect from a Taschen book.

For instance, given there is a Total Solar Eclipse today, the Eclipse page starts with:

“Eerily beautiful sign of conjunction, a single spot of photospheric light shining through a gap on the moon’s edge, or limb, appears as a brilliant gem set on a band of ghostly subdued coronal light…”.

You won’t hear the eclipse described like that on today’s news!

The Book of Symbols. Reflections on Archetypal Images. Eclipse Page.

Exploring symbols from life, art, and spirituality, the book provides a comprehensive look into their history, meanings, and psychic associations.

In fact, many of the tracks I’ve released this year have been directly influenced by the hidden meanings I uncovered during my nighttime reading.

If you are looking for some enlightenment, or just want to explore the deeper meanings of the archetypal symbols within our world, then this book is worth every penny.

Keep in mind that the hardback edition is a substantial tome, so you’ll need a firm grip if, like me, you choose to read it in bed.
